Vega Darling
Vega Darling is a documentary filmmaker, educator, and community organizer whose work explores queer and trans histories, feminist punk culture, and the power of media as a tool for social change. He holds an MFA in Social Documentation from UC Santa Cruz, and his films—including Lost Grrrls: Riot Grrrl in Los Angeles—have screened at international festivals and arts institutions.
Vega teaches film production, critical media studies, and the theory and practice of socially engaged documentary, drawing on decades of grassroots organizing to inform both his creative and pedagogical practices. His work is grounded in radical empathy, community-driven storytelling, and a vision for a more just and inclusive cultural future.
